Printemps Numérique

On June 21, the end of a Printemps numérique season marked by more than 150 events of every kind was celebrated. The MUTEK festival, the BIAN exhibition, audiovisual installations scattered through maisons de la culture across the island of Montréal: all these activities enriched the Printemps numérique program for a third consecutive

edition. Wonderful guests. With

Greater Montréal named Intelligent Community of the Year, the atmosphere at the SAT was festive. Printemps numérique brought together participants from its activities, curious visitors and many valued partners for its closing evening, a 5-to-9 event held in a warm and friendly mood, helped by especially pleasant weather. A few words from Vanessa Pilon.

In a tone as warm

as the temperature outside, the ambassador for Printemps numérique spoke to show her support for digital arts. Host and actor Vanessa Pilon encouraged everyone to invite people around them. She explained how she had invited her nephew, her mother and even a colleague to Piknic Électronik and the Phi Centre. Intelligent Community of the Year, she said, is a badge we should wear proudly. Activities during

the closing evening. Between visits to

the Journal Métro or Lezard3D  photo booths, guests could look at animation works created by UQAT students or try light painting under the geodesic dome of Printemps numérique, created by DIX au carré. Some also let themselves be tempted by Imagine360’s virtual-reality headset. And the food. Near the sliding bay window, conversations mingled with the

rhythms of DJ

Jay London, while the enticing smell of dishes prepared by the Mi Corazon food truck filled the room. Two-cabbage tacos, Dirty Martinez chili poutine and more meant there was something for every taste. At the end of this closing evening, we will have to wait almost a year for the next edition of Printemps numérique, a small price to pay for all the pleasures we look forward to finding again.
