Printemps Numérique

The Conférence régionale des élus (CRÉ) de Montréal and its partners are pleased to announce that the 2015 edition of Printemps numérique will take light and light-based technologies as its theme. According to CRÉ de Montréal president Manon Barbe, it is a strong and unifying theme. She noted that the event will be in stepwith the United Nations General Assembly, which proclaimed 2015 the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies.

Printemps numérique is part of the Je vois mtl mobilization, which aims to give Montréal new momentum. Printemps numérique is a major unifying project that showcases Montréal’s digital creativity locally and internationally. By mobilizing nearly one hundred Montréal organizations, it carries out a large-scale action to promote this digital creativity and facilitate its growth.

Printemps numérique highlights Montréal digital creativity in all its forms: interactive spaces, visual and sound performances, immersive experiences, 3D productions, cutting-edge electronic music, installations, studio visits, openings, international-calibre events and contemporary creations in which disciplines are remixed. For 2015, the team is working to give Printemps numérique greater scope, including a stronger digital presence in public places and broader participation by the digital industry, particularly through art-and-industry connections.

More than twenty organizations have already confirmed their participation and several original projects are under discussion. In 2014, 74 partners registered 82 events for Printemps numérique, many of which included a host of activities. That first edition was a major success, with more than 100,000 visits to activities and media coverage well beyond the promoters’ expectations.
