Printemps Numérique

On April 19, the opening for second-year Interactive Media students at UQAMtook place. The public was offered six projection and virtual-reality installations that transported visitors

into

Atlas
original and creative

worlds. Atlas is a reinvented puzzle game. Played alone or in a group, the goal is to discover the combination as a team and

power

Oasis
the pyramid with

energy. Oasis is a tree of life. Each person moving under the luminous ceiling is represented by a

cloud of textures and shapes that follows

them.

Transition
Transition is the

passage between two virtual worlds, a journey through an abstract polygonal universe in which the visitor must pass through

doors to reach another world.

Holi

Holi
is inspired by

the festival of the same name. Its narrative invites the interactor to play with colour

pigments and flames. Synapse creates a connection

between

Synapse
two worlds. A

user sends objects through a black hole on a touch screen, and the objects are then received in the virtual universe of the

person wearing the Oculus Rift.

Abysse

Abysse
is a virtual-reality

experience in which the user’s voice makes abstract shapes appear in their virtual

world. Although the Gauche exhibition lasted only one evening, stay tuned: the talents on display will soon be making their entrance onto the Montréal digital-creativity scene.
