Printemps numérique is still feeling the excitement of its launch. On March 24, 1,100 digital enthusiasts took over the Musée McCord to discover facets of Montréal creativity. This was an attendance record for the museum’s 5-to-9 events.Suzanne Gouin, chair of the board of Printemps numérique, noted that the event’s popularity demonstrates Montréalers’ strong interest in digital culture.

The evening brought together industry members, enthusiasts and newcomers alike, and this success is promising for the rest of the season. The Musée McCord also welcomed Mayor Denis Coderre, who came to see the enthusiasm for digital culture and took selfies along the way to the delight of participants. He declared that Montréal once again stands out through its authenticity and creativity, with

everyone pitching in. He added that the city will equip itself with the tools and means to create an environment favourable to creativity and to show how magnificent a metropolis Montréal is. Minister Dominique Anglade made one of her first public appearances connected to her role as minister responsible for the digital strategy. She said she was very pleased to celebrate Printemps numérique because the future runs through digital. In its latest budget, the government wants to move forward with digital initiatives and will need the pillars present that evening. She encouraged the community to dare, to be ambitious for Montréal and Québec, and to dare prosperity. The newspaper
