Digital Creatives
Don’t be anasshole, Out of thebox, Realigning theway, Things imperfect and The door is always open were among the conference topics at FITC in Toronto in April. FITC brings together Future, Innovation, Technology and Creativity in one place for three consecutive days. Some speakers reveal their journeys, talents and innovative ideas. Others present new technologies or projects. Some are still students, others are already experts, and some do not speak about technology at all, but simply about the art they produce. They share their creativity through photography, as Michael Muller does by introducing us to his underwater world, or through a wild brand universe, as Johnny Cupcakes does with a company that sells not pastries but T-shirts with a cupcake logo. Others come to introduce us to graphic design, programming and robotics, from companies whose reputations are well established, such as LVTHN, Derivative, Microsoft and many others. That is FITC: 1,369 speakers from six countries sharing their passion. There were many inspiring talks,

Technology will obviously let you down at one point or another. We have all been there: one day it works, the next day everything crashes. Nevertheless, it is important to have teammates you can count on. With that support, a project can always reach a successful conclusion. That reassured me, because as digital creators we all share the same fears. Seeing that major companies in the field share them gives us a little more confidence in our future in this area.
