The Chromatic Festivalreturns for its ninth edition from May 26 to June 2. Created by MASSIVart, the event breaks

away from

traditional exhibition formats and offers eight days of contemporary interventions in theformerÉcole des Beaux-Arts. Across five floors, artists will use augmented reality, artificial intelligence, video, gamesand immersive installations as creative languages. Theprogram includes Andrew Thomas Huang, known for his film workand collaborations

with Björk

and Thom Yorke, presenting thescience-fiction video series Flesh Nest; Daniel Iregui’s kinetic sculpture Amplitude; the collective work Obji by Fred Trétout on virtual identity; andgames by Tender Claws, VR Unicorns and others. Chromatic is organized around several experiences: daily exhibitions, evening Apéros Chromatic, a children’s day for ages 4 to 12,and two night events dedicated to musical performances with house, techno and Afrobeat influences. The festival aims to make contemporary art accessible to younger audiences while energizing Montréal’s digital andartistic scene.
