The exceptional union of ELEKTRA and MUTEK highlights Montréal’s attractiveness and influence as an international hub for digital creation. For this major first, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal becomes the nerve centre of EM15, featuring performances by key figures from the Montréal, North American and international scenes. The festival also takes place across the Quartier des spectacles, with programs at Théâtre Impérial and Métropolis. A strong emphasis is
placed on
emergence and discovery, with no fewer than 47 premieres: 16 world premieres, 13 North American premieres and 17 Canadian premieres.
EM15 is also proud to offer many free events, including the EXPÉRIENCE program on the Place des Arts Esplanade in partnership with Red Bull Music Academy, the immersive and experimental PLAY program at the MAC in collaboration with CULT
#MTL, and a rich
daytime program at Centre Phi. Every day, many exceptional projects and artists will be accessible to all.
Starting Monday, May 26, EM15 takes over Centre PHI in Old Montréal with a three-day international symposium organized with the Connecting Cities network. It is intended for cultural workers, artists and members of the public interested in digital creation in urban contexts. Panels, presentations, case studies and talks will address the connected and participatory city, the visible and intelligent city, and urban digital creation around the world. EM15 also offers DIGI_SECTION, presented by MOOG Audio, with artist meetings and workshops, as well as MIAN, the International Digital Art Market, where presenters, curators, agents, journalists
