In early December, Algiers hosted a major sequence in which artificial intelligence was

placed at

the service of impact, entrepreneurship and internationalalliances. Alongside theAfricanStartup

Conference, Printemps numérique co-organized the AI for Good Hackathon 2025 with DjazairIA and

DMZ and led a program of panels focused on scaling innovation. Morethan

200 teams

applied to the hackathon, and the winning team

received $10,000

  • and a placein the DMZ Basecamp program in
  • Toronto. Discussions broughttogether researchers,entrepreneurs, investors, product experts and

community leaders around generative and multimodalAI,

ecosystem

building, health,

  1. equity, leadership and
  2. go-to-market strategies.
  3. Three key lessons emerged:

AI only has value when it responds

to real needs; Africa has a strategic advantage through youth,

creativity and

frugal innovation; and scaling requires strong bridges

between research,entrepreneurship,

investmentand public policy.
