For its 5th anniversary, the Chromatic festival is spreading its energy across Montréal. Its complete program has been unveiled with more than 150 artists. A 360-degree experience around creation, Chromatic is a true celebration of contemporary art, bringing multiple artistic disciplines together in one event. From May 24 to 30, seven days of creativity are announced with workshops, evenings, a residency and exhibitions that reflect the Montréal

art scene. For the occasion,

Chromatic2014
Chromatic

takes over three major Montréal venues: the Chalet du Mont-Royal, Arsenal and Espace MASSIVart.

The Chalet du Mont-Royal is the launch site for this fifth edition. Starting at noon, Chromatic rises to the top of Mont-Royal for more than 12 hours of creative explosions: yoga, picnic, biergarten and unveiling of artistic installations to the sound of Piknic Electronik DJs such as Silent Disco, SHAYDAKISS, A-ROCK and HATCHMATIK, before the Nuit Chromatic begins at 8 p.m. with projections from Centre

Phi, installations

and DJs including River Lance, Heart Streets, Foxtrott and Tommy Cruise, presented by M for Montréal. From midnight, Chromatic and Espace MASSIVart invite the public to keep celebrating creativity until dawn to the sound of MEG DJs.

Many other events follow, including Chromatic Junior: after a family picnic, Chromatic invites Montréal youth to explore the theme of habitat through creative, educational and playful workshops. On May 25, Ciné Parc Chromatic proposes, above the

city

lights, a series of three Montréal-produced documentaries presented by RIDM in collaboration with the NFB on the theme of habitat, creating a moment of reflection on urbanization and evolution.

Ahead of C2MTL, the Cocktail Chromatic invites professionals and enthusiasts to learn more about art and celebrate creativity with the best of Montréal contemporary creation. At Arsenal, Parcours Chromatic presents surprising contemporary proposals by a dozen selected Chromatic artists, reinventing the conference through a series of innovative creations.

For this fifth

edition,

Chromatic sets up its headquarters at Espace MASSIVart with BlockParty, 7@9 Design and, for the first timein Montréal, theInternational Weird Collage Show. The venue transforms daily through an eclectic program. The closing evening will also take place there, presented by Think outside the box, ending the festival in the light of the three primary colours with an exhibition by Gabrielle Laila Tittley and Paul A. Larocque. The program is eclectic, open to all and mostly free, to discover from May 24 to 30. All information is available atchromatic.ca.
